Millions of Americans own pets. Or should we say that the pet owns us??? We love them. In fact the person writing this section is a minister, currently owns 2 dog, 20+ fish and has recently had turtles and other friends in his home (that doesn't count the beautiful birds that come to our feeders, nest in the trees, the chipmonks (one is named "Charlie") who make homes on our grounds and butterflys that dance along the flowers we plant to attract them. We love nature and pets or animals that are cared for mean a lot to us and millions of people who have a love for these companions that entertain us, offer endless love and companionship.
Eventually, the pet passes away and you are left with certain choices to make. Is it a quick trip to the vet and sign off on a cremation request OR do you want more than this????? The choice becomes yours. This animal depended on you and was there for you. He / She was a part of your family. There are services that can be provided very economically yet give a loving farewell to your best friend.
Cremations may be accompanied by a memorial service before the cremation begins or after at your home or other selected location. You may even wish to have a spreading of the ashes ceremony complete with music, prayer and readings. There are many ways to bid good-bye to your horse, bird, cat, dog or other cherished partner, friend and confidant.
