Introducing your child to God through the Rite of Baptism or a Naming ceremony is the first step on one's spiritual journey
HOW PERFORMED
SPECIAL The Christian Baptismal & Civil Naming
Services Section
"Introducing your child to God, family and the community"
Your minister will typically be attired in a white robe with the red stole displaying the dove of peace or another stole containing the Christian cross. Naming and Dedication of Child ceremonies may also request the clergy person to wear this or a black alter robe, suitable dress or business suit. Each ceremony above mentioned is different and yet the attire worn is selected based on your wishes so as not to offend your family and members in attendance.
The minister will outline with you the service over the phone or in person and request certain information that will be needed for the ceremony (i.e. names of God parents, sponsors, ages, whether the ceremony will be indoors or out, etc. Once the minister arrives, the areas chosen for the service will be set up with those articles necessary to perform the Rite. In many cases, one or more portable tables will be used. You don't need to bring anything but yourself. Unless you have highly specialized requirements consisting of features that we would not have access to, rest assured that we come fully equipt and ready to perform your ceremony.
After set up of the alter or presentaton area, a review will be made with you as the hiring contact and we'll double check that everyone has arrived and you are ready to begin. After the service is completed, you will be presented with a keepsake certificate along with another small gift for the person who is the subject of the ceremony.
Music plays a key role in any of the services performed. That is why we have a vast selection of music that is at your disposal for deciding upon for this day. In many cases, introductory music is played in the beginning so as to let the guests know that it is time to take their seats. At other chosen points in the ceremony, one or more other selections are played and a closing song consisting of singing or strictly instrumental is qued up. We recommend that you have your own CD player or other machine with speakers that is appropriate for the room and audience size. We do have a system however that you can request for smaller venues. While most of our music is classical or religious in nature for these occasions, you may also decide yourself to use your own selection {we do retain the right to approve the selection - in most cases the choice is acceptable as our only limitations are that the selection does not defame the ceremony}.
We also welcome those who wish to photograph or video the ceremony. We know that your memories are important and so this is permitted through the entire service period.
